Knutsford Lions helps to provide free occasional screening for diabetes.
The screening takes place within a caravan usually located in the car park of Booths Supermarket in Knutsford. The Lions provide publicity prior to the event and assist with the paperwork during the event.
The screening is done by volunteer qualified staff from Knutsford GP's surgeries and tests the blood sugar levels. While the results do not in themselves show that a person has diabetes they do provide enough evidence to enable the qualified staff to advise people that they should visit their doctor for a full test.
