The first Sunday in February sees the annual Knutsford and District Lions Club Senior Citizens Variety Show. This event is for senior citizens living in the Knutsford area and admission is by free ticket.
In 2009 the show had a variety of acts. These included the Egerton School Choir singing several songs and finishing with a couple from Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. The choir was good and was a hit with our audience.
We had two instrumental acts. One was a Shadows tribute act. The other was Redwing Instrumental Group consisting of a fiddle, guitar and base guitar playing a selection of well known tunes.
We were also lucky enough to have the international harpist and singer Margaret Knight who had come down from Skye to perform.
Even the three short sketches, "There's a hole in my bucket", "Mastermind" and "My Old Man's a dustman" performed by the Knutsford Lions failed to dampen the spirit of the audience. In fact it could be seen that the guests were enjoying these sketches.
This event will be held again on Sunday 7 February 2010. In the mean time - if you know of any good acts please let us know.
