RECENT EVENTS

SENIOR CITIZENS VARIETY SHOW - 3/2/2024

We recently held our annual free Variety Show for the towns Senior Citizens at a packed Knutsford Methodist Church. Well over 200 people enjoyed a superb performance by Knutsford Star Choir in the first half of the show. The second half included a monologue, ‘Canute The Great’ by Marriott Edgar, a clever rendition of the ‘Radetzky March’ on the organ, and a medley of songs about ‘The Weather’. The final act was the now traditional Lions Sketch, this year involving several of Charles Dicken’s characters such as Ebeneezer Scrooge and Fagin. 

CHRISTMAS DAY LUNCH FOR PEOPLE 'ON THEIR OWN' - 25/12/2023

WE HAD OUR LUNCH 'FOR PEOPLE ON THEIR OWN ON' AT THE STANLEY CENTRE ON CHRISTMAS DAY. AS ALWAYS IT WAS A LOVELY OCCASION. MANY THANKS TO MAYOR PETER COAN, SANTA AND THE COOKS, SERVERS, WASHERS UP AND DRIVERS. SPECIAL THANKS TO PAT AND CLIVE HEATH FOR THEIR METICULOUS ORGANISATION.

WE OUR HAD OUR ANNUAL WENCESLAS APPEAL TO HELP LOCAL PEOPLE IN FINANCIAL CRISIS & ENVELOPE/STREET COLLECTION FOR LOCAL GOOD CAUSES IN DECEMBER

WE HAD OUR ANNUAL CHARITY CONCERT ON FRIDAY 10TH NOVEMBER 2023, FEATURING EIGHT PIECE BAND, SILHOUETTE, FOR A SUPERB 60/70s REVIVAL NIGHT IN SUPPORT OF LIONS CLUBS BRAIN TUMOUR RESEARCH APPEAL

This year's concert featured ‘Silhouette’ a eight piece band from Manchester who presented a fabulos 60s and 70s revival night of live music. As in previous years the concert was held in the beautiful surroundings of St John's church Knutsford. There was a Prize Draw raising money for the Lions Brain Tumour Research Appeal as well as our own local charities. Lions Clubs across the UK are aiming to raise £1 million pounds for the Brain Tumour Research charity. https://www.lionsbraintumourappeal.co.uk/
